Key Briefs & Reports: Winbond Workers Submit Accounts of Their Ordeal

camsaDecember 30, 2008: The Coalition to Abolish Modern-day Slavery in Asia (CAMSA) continues to fight on behalf of four Vietnamese who were brought to work as domestics in Malaysia by the firm Winbond. In the most recent development reported by CAMSA staff on the ground, all four have signed statutory declarations, which are official documents summarizing their ordeal.

With the signing and submission of these documents, the workers will be able to return to Vietnam while CAMSA’s Penang office continues fighting to secure their compensation for the labor and human rights they have suffered.
