Key Briefs & Reports: CAMSA Fights for Vietnamese Workers in Malaysia

October 28, 2008: The Coalition to Abolish Modern-day Slavery in Asia (CAMSA) recently succeeded in helping a Vietnamese guest worker in Malaysia return home. His 3-year contract ended in late October, at which time he was sent to another Malaysian company. He wanted to return home but the company would not pay for his paperwork and airfare, which was when CAMSA intervened. The gentleman is on his way home and we are waiting to hear from him for follow-up.

If you know of a case where the rights of Vietnamese guest workers are being violated, please email Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thang at thang.nguyen@bpsos.org.
