Key Briefs & Reports: Stonewall Tactics by Vietnamese Gov’t Stall Jordan Workers’ Petition Bid

September 22, 2008: Last week, a group of repatriated workers from the W&D Apparel in Jordan showed up at the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs to present their petition. They were blocked by the guards. Surprisingly, agents of the labor export companies were there to intercept them. They told the workers to sign a form assigning all blame to themselves. Of course, the workers did not sign it.

Nguyen Thi Sen, a worker still left in Jordan, has been seriously ill. She has asked to go home, but her request has not been approved.
