June 2, 2009: The Penang team of the Coalition to Abolish Modern-day Slavery in Asia (CAMSA) is in the process of revamping its case management program in order to more effectively deliver services to guest workers in Malaysia.
“We face a lot of obstacles with case management,” said CAMSA team member James Nguyen. “Management has a lot of tricks up their sleeve to keep us from even speaking to the workers – including, quite simply, locking them up.”
The revamping process precedes the arrival of incoming CAMSA intern Ngoc-Tram Le , who will add expertise to the case management program, and meshes with ongoing outreach efforts. To read more about the strategy behind the outreach work, click here.
